Most likely you need to adjust the striker plate on the door. Not the handle. Your door could be sagging as well, which would cause it to be hard to open.

I'd say look at the door sagging issue. These trucks are very well known for this problem. A GM parts guy can ramble off the part numbers you will need for this repair off the top of his head (I now, I am one.) Also, the sagging could have been fixed, but left the door handle damaged from reefing on it to close the door when it did sag. I've seen it a hundred times. Once the handle is damaged, it needs to be replaced, as there is no adjustment. Overall, though, these were very good trucks.

there's a hollow the place the cope with become.. look at how the different doorways linkage works,on yet another door..then use a hook or pry bar to artwork the linkage by the hollow...if the linkage in the back of the broke cope with continues to be intact use a vise-grip..or somewhat cord, or cord.,...
