Many women with fertility are finding that they have PCOS. Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome. It is hallmarked by infertillity, insulin resistance, weight issues, irregular periods or lack of.
You do not have to have ovarian Cysts to have this syndrome, but it seems to be a hallmark in diagnosis for some physicians.
It is treated with Glucophage (many women do not have diabetes, but may develop it in time because of the disorder.)
Many OB-GYN's are finding that metformin (glucophage) is actually allowing many infertal women to conceive. (one of those benifits outweigh the risk...)
The only way to really know what is wrong and why you are not conceiving is by having a thorough exam and testing.
Wish you much luck.

This is my standard answer......... go get a book called Taking Charge of your fertility by Toni Weschler
This book will help you with all of your menstrual and conception questions. It’s for all women - not just women trying to conceive. It covers everything from temperature to mucus checking, etc.. It will help you understand your body and all the myths about it. It will help you time when you are ovulating and the best times to conceive – or not! It tells you how to figure out your cycle and what to expect. My husband and I tried for a year to conceive and nothing happened. The first month I used the book we conceived right away. Now I am due Feb 2. It's about knowing your body and knowing when you are fertile or not. You can pick and choose what you do with your info. Good luck and don't listen the all the myths!

It's good to go to your Dr. in case there is something medically wrong, so it can be treated. Other than that, sometimes an irregular period can be related to weight, so you could try to lose some weight....
My Dr. put me on Clomid, but I skipped the month that I actually got pregnant. But I did get this product... www.preseed.com
it worked for us.
Good luck!

When I was younger, I used to skip months, onetime I even went 9 mos without a period.
Within a month of trying, we conceived our daughter, now 7 mos.
and on our second try, we hit the jackpot again in just a week!!
Cara M is right...we also used PreSeed this time.

Well....let me know what the doctor says. I am TTC myself....we have been trying for 2 months...not that long but I also have PCOS...which makes it really hard for me (at least that what it says) I would really like to try clomid....this is a fertility drug....ask your doctor about it when you go. Good Luck!!!
