I have been considering having breast implants fora long time now. What I was wondering was, for the women on here who have had the surgery or know of someone who has, what is the pain level like? The reason I ask is because everyone is so different in their pain thresholds. What is your imput.....how much time did it take to recover from the surgery, before you were able to get back to normal activities?

Just so you know, I have already done all the research about the complications, side-effects, difference in feel, etc. I am asking this because I wanted to know, from real people, how they did during recovery.

I've had saline implants for two years. They are on top of the muscle and are 425 ccs. They went under the breast during the surgery. Quite honestly, they are the best decision I've made regarding my body. I love them, and they're something I would recommend to anyone.
I had them done on a Thursday afternoon. When I came to they sent me home and I was in some pain but they gave me painkillers. The next day I pretty much slept and took the medication. On Saturday I started to walk around more and do things. I felt well enough to go to dinner with my husband that night. By Monday I was back in my old routine. I was very sore for a couple of days, but really nothing that was unmanageable. I have a very low threshold for pain, but can tell you this does not hurt as much as other procedures like a wisdom tooth. At the time I was a pilates teacher, and I began teaching about 2 weeks after my surgery. I began taking step classes and working about about 3 weeks after the surgery. I have been active ever since, and really had no complications. Believe me the benefits outweigh the pain, and you will be fine.

One week before the pain is decreased. How long before you can be active again depends on a couple of things. Size of the implant, healing time. Your doctor will more likely than not tell you to take it easy for a few weeks. You'll want to anyways. I heard its quite painful the first week because of the swelling. I mean they dont call it surgery for nothing. But then again many many women have had it done so you have to think thats its bareable.

A good friend of mine had breast augmentation. She said she felt just some slight pain 2 days after the procedure, but with some painkillers the surgeon prescribed she tolerated it. If you're looking for good advice and great price info try http://www.surgeryabroadguide.com

well first let me tell you something, breast implants do come with its own set of complications, they can rupture, they can get infected, may cause chronic fatigue syndrome, may cause autoimmune diseases like lupus etc.
second breast implants may be aesthetically appealing for males but when it comes to close contact (boyfriend touch it etc) they are a put down as they do not feel natural and once you discover "those" are not natural they are not as appealling any more. rethink your deccision
