boy or girl?

Question

i am eleven weeks and i was wondering how soon can you find out if you are having a boy or girl. are there old wives tales that are true. anyone has any ideas

I knew shortly after becoming pregnant.I've found that if i craved seafood & dairy that it's a boy. For a girl i really had no appitite for anything other than salads and friuts. As for the old wives tales some are true while most are crappy.My girls (2) i carried really small and didn't show until 3 weeks before they were born and only gained 10lbs. My boys (3) I showed from 3 mos and looked ready to pop at 6mos. Gained anywhere from 25-50 for those monsters.LOL Any way congratsmand here's to a happy and healthy child.The one that worked for my sis was the one with the string and your wedding or engagement ring. i think it is about 20 weeks until you are able to see what the baby is. An old wives tale is carry high its a girl and carry low its a boy.

I found out at my 20 week ultasound. I wouldn't listen to any old wives tales...They only will get your hopes up and then you'll be disappointed when the true results are different.

I went to a lamaze class and just for fun the instructor gave us all a metal ring on a piece of string. She said that if it moved a certain way, it was a boy, or if it moved this way, it was a girl. She had us do it and told us that it probably moved in the direction of the gender we were hoping for. Well, we were hoping for a boy, and ended up having a girl. and the string moved as if it was a girl. My friend, who didn't care one way or another what the gender would be did it and it came out swinging like a girl!!
I don't necessarily believe in that, but It was a strange coincidence!!

i believe you should be able to tell around 16-20 weeks or so.. I guess it depends on the development or something. but the old wifes tales are BS because the the sex of the child is determind when your convieving it. i read that the sexual positions have alot to do with it as well.

i just had a boy now he 6mos any way the wise tail that u carry high when u have a boy is true, and boys are easier on your body i look great when i was preg. every one glows but the weight was in the right spots u couldn't tell i was preg till i was 9mos but belive me they make up that easiness when they r born boys r cry babies from my expenise n i think u find the sex out when u r 11-13 weeks i was late finding out i was preg so i didnt know till i was 5 mos
