I want to start training my waist by wearing corsets, have you ever done this? How did it go for you?

I have worn one many times.

As others have stated, find someone who makes corsets for a living. This is not something you want off the shelf.

A good rule of thumb, if doing it off the web, if their site has a lot of frilly underwear or "french maid" style items ,. go elsewhere.

A couple I have dealt with will actually talk to you and get an idea of what you actually want to accomplish.

Also, it's important to get the right measurements ,. and to pay attention to what measurements they really want. i.e. do they want your waist size or your desired waist size (generally you take 4 inches off your natural waist to start with).

Other than that, just think about where you'll wear it and for how long. For strict corset training ,. worn under clothes for all day wear and such .. you'll want something that washes and is breathable .. plain cotton may not be fancy, but it'll get you started.

.. depending on how tight and used to it you are ,. it will force you to be careful under certain circumstances .. and be a bit more feminine generally (think acting like your wearing a short skirt .. no bending over at the waist or idle reclining on the couch).

Hope this helps

I have. The place that they were the most uncomfortable when I wore them was not actually in the waist or chest -- maybe because I'm very busty so I had a "buffer" -- but on the hips. When you sit down during the day, the bottom of your corset rubs up against your hips and kind of "cuts into" them, so unless you learn to train your posture, too, you'll get some nasty red marks; they'll be especially bad if you attend class during the day, or work at a desk. Even with the right posture, you'll still have to deal with it .

My advice for waist training is to take it slowly at first, until you get used to the way the corset fits you, and you get a better idea of how tight you can make it while still functioning normally. The Elizabethan court standard of 13" is absolutely gross and unhealthy on a normal-sized person, and will make you look like a wasp. I'm sure you have good judgement, but I just wanted to stress that it can be addictive, and you have to know when to stop.

Enjoy!

The easiest way to start waist training is to go to a corsetier (ones who make real corsets) and asking their opinion. Fake corsets have no boning, as Im sure you know, and don't lace up. So, once you've found a real dealer, youve found someone who knows their stuff.

Ask them; they'll be able to advise you better than a load of anonymous websters.

Yes, I have though I did not do waist training. They're very confining & difficult to wear (sitting, breathing) expensive (300-400 for the "real" thing). Plus you have to have someone with you who can lace you in & out all the time, as strict waist training calls for 20-22 hrs of wear per day. But DAMN! they do look hot! I just save mine for special occasions

I know this probably doesn't help you, but in response to your initial question, I tried one on one time--cuz, and don't ask why, but I LOVE the way they look--but it was the kind that didn't cover your chest, which is what I wanted. All I can say is, even though I'm 5'4" and 108lbs.--so obviously pretty thin--it was really tight. I could hardly breath.

Not to sound like a downer, but it doesn't seem like training your waist is a real healthy idea. I don't know for sure, but it seems like it would be kind of detrimental to your body.

Good luck anyway!!

yes I have they are terribly uncomfortable but when dressing for Fair they are a necessity . . I've never heard of training for wearing one though we just put them on and lace them up. . one hint is to use multiple laces so that you can have the waist tighter than the bust and the lower waist

my best friend says Pirate corsets are the best for cinching you up.

my wife has done this and it is very difficult at first, it took her a month to get down the 2 sizes she was cinching to.
Keep working at it as they make you look great, my wife wears a corset twice a week at work and either sat or sunday.

Are you wearing stockings, does the corset have garters
my wife found that she like wearing RHT stockings when she started wearing corsets.

a very sexy hot look
