I am job hunting and I was hired today but my id is expired. I must have something up to date and a passport would work. The DPS isn't open to do ids til wednesday. I gotta get to work or I will go crazy from boredom.

But this takes weeks. You only have a couple of days to provide proof to your employer that you're legally able to work in the USA. You may do better going to the DMV and getting a state ID card.

Post office for the passport - but they take over 6 weeks usually. Can you use your expired one until then? As the company you are working for.

Passport prob. not your best option. Need other I. D. in order to get one. Usually, you apply ay nearest Post office. Takes 6 weeks or so and costs about $100.00. Sorry
