London is full of all the things you list, so full in fact that it's almost impossible to make any specific suggestion but I'll give it a go. For galleries try the Tate Modern on the South Bank - as the name suggests, it's ouvre is modern art; a huge gallery that will take at least a day if your serious about modern art. For a more traditional gallery there is the National Gallery and the National Portrait Gallery at Trafalgar Square (a tourist attraction in it's own right with the world famous Nelsons Column). Other galleries to consider are the Royal Academy and the Serpentine Gallery. For restaurants, if you like Indian food, try Brick Lane, situated between Whitechapel and Bethnal Green. I have no particular recommendation as all serve delicious, reasonably priced, authentic Indian food. I'll pass on the bars, there are just far too many catering for all tastes. Try to steer clear of the main shopping areas such as Oxford Street but do check out Carnaby Street (slightly declasse) and Soho in the West End. Whatever you decide to do, I can guarantee you will have the time of your life Welcome to London.
