Does anyone know how I can change a check made out to me in GBP (Pounds Sterling) into US $ -?

The banks here in Minneapolis will not exchange it....as it is not cash - does anyone have any ideas? Thank you.

can you deposit it into the bank and then withdraw it as US cash?

I had the same problem last year with a Canadian check. Took it to a Bank and they wanted a $25.00 processing fee since it was international. I asked for and received a Letter of Credit which was accepted by my bank..

You can do the same, ask your bank if they will accept a Letter of Credit, if not call around and find one that will.
