I'm a Republican (barely anymore), but I can't help wondering how President Bush is suppossed to be at work & instead he's flying around on Air Force One stumping for other GOP candidates. How does this work? I mean he's got to be burning a lot of jet fuel, plus everywhere he goes there's a large contingent of personel that flies with him and prepares where he's going to speak, & so forth. I'm guessing this has to costs thousands of dollars a day. Is this all paid by private contributions, or are we taxpayers paying for him to fly around the country to parties and conventions while we are at war?!

You do, I do. We all do. Transportation is provided to the president, free of charge, while he is in office. The Air Force operates Air Force One from Andrews AFB. But since taxpayers fund the military, the people are stuck paying for it, especially while PotUS is jetsetting across the USA.

The president can use it when, where, and how he sees fit.

Sometimes you people amaze me. What you should be asking is what else is your tax payer money going towards. Some states are using tax payer money for things like ILLEGAL immigrant in state tuition. **** like that is what you should worry about. ANY OTHER president would be doing the same exact thing. I wish your hate for the man who is trying to protect you and this country could be set aside for just one minute. By the way, Bush can do his job from nearly anywhere. You dont think he has access to the things he needs to take care of business? What do you think is in Air Force One? Secure telephones among other things.
You people are so ignorant. If the Dems get control after this election you all will be very sorry. When Bush is out and the Dems move in next presidential election you'll be even more sorry. The hypocritical democrats have no answers, no plans for anything. Maybe they have a couple like raising taxes and allowing gays to marry legally and cut defense spending and allow illegals to continue to receive benefits, ect ect ect. This country is doing very well economically now but as usual the dems are lying about that. Oh whats the use, some of you just will never get it so its a waste of my time to even bother because youre too dumb to see the truth.

Same ones that paid for Bill Clinton and every previous president to fly around in Air Force One.

Do you suppose that Bill Clinton was the first and only POTUS to earn his membership in the Mile High Club on Air Force One? (At taxpayer expense of course).

Not sure, but I think taxpayers. The president should pay campaign expenses out of his pocket. Heaven knows he can afford it.

What I would like to know is who paid travel expenses for the talk show hosts to go to D C for their pep rally a week or so ago. The pep talk worked. They sure have been talking it up even more than usual since then.

well, the same people who pay for the democrats to fly around. how about algore who flies around and is limo-ed around to promote is alarmist, bogus movie on global warming? gee, i wonder how big of a "carbon footprint" (another joke) he is leaving?

and does john kerry EVER work. what about all the time he spent running for president? if he were a decent man, he would have quit like the others do and not cost the tax payers double. but no, he thinks all the money and power is for him and that he can do what he likes. nice try.

Let me first say that I am not a Bush fan...however, the money for use of AF-1 is supposed to come from the RNC or the individual candidates the president is stumping for. Taxpayers DO NOT foot this bill (at least we're not supposed to).

i've got achieved Peter Pan two times, and we've had the characters fly in the two cases. All it takes is an audition and somewhat faith. I advise conserving a puppy crocodile to get into character.

The sitting President traditionally goes on the campaign trail for member of his party, and the taxpayers always pick up the bill.

The campaigns pay for the portion of the trips that are "election related". The accounting on this is quite good, actually, compared to, for example, the accounting that they've been doing over in Iraq.
