In May 1989, my wife and I rode the Harley from Tucson to Rapid City, SD. There, she found a sculpture of Crazy Horse made with pewter, bronze, 24-carat gold, and other precious metals. We paid the $700 for it and had it shipped to our home address.

From that one piece, we eventually collected a total of 45 items of like artwork--each one increasing in initial cost until the last one told me that my collecting days had to end.

We found the first of a six-part collection titled, "Red Cloud" in Tombstone that a former collector had sold to a dealer. They called me when I was living in Texas, and for $4,500, the item became mine.

The sculptures, for the most part, were created by Chris Pardell, a superb artist of the American Indian who sells his work to Legends or Starlight Productions in Simi Valley, California.

All they are now are expensive dust catchers behind glass. I now collect one-dollar items found in the Dollar Store of critters playing a guitar. This new acquisition won't break me.

I collect decorative wall fans. Some are absolutley HUGE, others are christmas tree ornaments, and everything in between. I probably have about 160 fans. I have collected them from antique stores, garage sales, gift stores and even direct from China and Japan. Sometimes I get lucky and find a unique one on eBay. :)

I collect little ceramic pixies made in the 1950s by a California pottery company called Gilner. They are sweet-faced and remind me of my grandmother's flowerpots. I find them on eBay, thrift stores, garage sales, tag sales and word of mouth.
