Your doctor just wants to make sure it is developed enough. I know it may seem like its to long but it will be worth it trust me. Some times it is hard to see anyway the more developed the better the chances are of seeing the sex.

Some insurance companies will only cover a certain amount of ULS, so if you're limited the Dr. will only order them when you really need them. This is my situation anyway, and I hear it's fairly common. I am allowed 2, the first at 8 weeks, the second much later in the pregnancy. I probably won't find out the sex until 24 weeks. The only way to know for sure why your doctor wont order one right now is to ask her why.
Also, there's a better chance of getting the sex correct later on in your pregnancy, even though they can usually tell at 16 weeks. Just try to be patient.
Congrats!

Most doc. wont do an ultrasound until 20 weeks, simply because they all look like females a 15 weeks. If its a male you have to give him time to finish developing. I honestly would want to wait till then as well just so I could be on the safe side and get the best results. I found out when I was 20 weeks that I was having a boy..got some pretty clear pictures and then a week ago when I hit my due date they done another ultrasound to make sure the baby was okay and showed me again..lol to make sure. Now here I am 41 weeks and waiting for this baby to come out!

While the sexual oragns of the baby is developing as early as 15 weeks. It is not always easy to tell. I have had an unltrasound even at 21 weeks and they were still not certain.
So many lawsuits happened do to being to the wrong sex of the baby. Therefore, most ultrasound techs do not even want to answer that question. But it if is unmistakable....they will be more confident....but that unmistakable time is not until 21 or 22 weeks.
Best best....what do YOU really think it is. You will also know with time.....ultrasound or not.

What's your rush. It's another month and the chances of accuracy are increased the longer you wait because the baby is bigger and you can "see" more. I know your excited, but you go to a doctor for a reason. Let her do the doctoring. You just go along for the ride. But if you can't, then here's a radical idea. Try ASKING her why she wants to wait. I'm sure she's concerned about cost, etc. and would rather do only 1 ultrasound than 2.

Hello i think that if you want to know the sex of your baby then you need to tell your doctor.
I don't think that they should really have a problem with it. And if they do then maybe you should find a different doctor. One that fits you and your baby more.
This is and exciting and fun time for you. Don't let anyone stand in your way!.... Its your baby!! lol
Best of luck

15 weeks is a bit early. Your best waiting till 20 weeks when everything is more clear.

They don't do ultrasounds to find out the sex of the baby, Their reason for doing an ultrasound is to make sure everything is going alright in there...They do the sex check for your benefit...
And their reason for not doing it until you're 20wks is because it's harder to tell what the sex is at 16wks.
There is probably no way for you to 'coax' the dr into giving you an ultrasound before she's ready...
You'll just have to be paitent! :-)
Best of luck!
