I think the question should read; How do we know Noah and Abraham were Homo-Sapiens?. We don't know for sure and probably never will. These type of issues are really a matter of opinion, belief, and/or faith. Everyone has to look inward and decide what their opinion is. The main thing is not to hold that anyone else's opinion against them just because its different.

Hi,
I am not religious, but I will answer your question from a "archaeological" point of view.
According to the Bible, Abraham came from a city called Ur. That city was built in the Copper Age and the Bronze Age.
Neanderthals, (which are a slightly different species to us, we are scientifically known as Homo Sapiens Sapiens, Neandertals are known as Homo Sapiens Neanderthalensis) and Cro Magnon man date back to the Old Stone Age, which is many thousands of years before either Noah or Abraham are supposed to have lived.
Therefore, Abraham and Noah cannot have been the ancestors of Neanderthals and Cro Magnon Man.
Hope that answers the question.

I'm not a theologist--or even religious--but I have some religious knowlege.
Based on the Bible the world started only about 4000 years ago. If you take that literally, than ANY humans (or anything else) couldn't possibly have existed before then. Since Cro-Magnons and Neanderthals existed before then, they could not possibly b descendants of Noah or Abraham.
Or, if you discount the year counting, then they have to be descendants of Noah, but not necessarily Abraham. Noah, his wife, sons, and daughters-in-law were, in theory, the only humans left. If the flood occurred BEFORE Cro-Magnon and Neanderthals existed, then they have to be descendants of Noah. If the flood occurred AFTER, then the question is irrelevant.
Based on the level of technology available to both Noah and Abraham, chances are that they came after the height of Cro-Magnons and Neanderthals, so they could not possibly be descended from either man.
All of this is, of course, assuming that we are taking the Bible at face value and not as simply a guide to history.

Wouldn't it be the other way? Noah or Abraham could theoretically be their descendants. That would be weird if you believe in the rapid replacement hypothesis, which argues that Homo neanderthalensis is not the same species as Homo sapies. So, would Noah or Abraham have the cold-adapted body with a short stature and large trunk?
Note: Cro-Magnon is just an antiquated H. sapiens, which was first found in France.
So, here, the Bible and paleoanthropology do not exactly match.

We dont know, but it's highly unlikely since noah and abraham supposedly came long after the cro-magnon and neanderthal timeline

The stories about Noah and Abraham (God created the world) generally contradict Cro Magon and Neanderthal (The world evolved). Unless you decide to merge them: Noah and Abraham are Homo Sapiens who came much later than the other two.

Perhaps you should ask Darwin and compare Cro-Magnon and Neanderthal man to some apes

Shouldn't that be turned around ? It seems to me that maybe Noah and Abraham may have been decended from the Cro-Magnon.

We don't, nor do we know that when God said let there be light, there wasn't the start of the "Big Bang" Theory. But both science and religious studies are just that Theories because there is not one die hard fact that can be proved by either on how we got started.
