I think Air Traffic Control is documented as the most stressful job. They are not allowed to work even one minute of overtime because a mistake due to fatigue may cost thousands of lives all at once. They are also only allowed to work I believe three to four days a week, and must take a day off in between their work days.

The most stressful job is being a CPA. According to many journals, the average age that a CPA lives until is 51 years old. They usually die of strokes or heart attacks. It is very stressful to have so much pressure put on you by 100's of clients.

Policemen and Firemen have the most stressful jobs. Often they have to be retired very early in their careers due to physical manifestations of stress.

most would say a doctor or a nurse but id say its a shopkeeper i work 17hrs a day 7 days a week even Xmas day iv bin working like this 4 6years now without a holiday or a day off. some of the customers r right weired and then theirs the druggies and the thief es

Being a firefighter-paramedic they deal in life & death situations every day they are on duty. It's a career that burns you out because they have seen everything imaginable that a human can endure. Look at all the catastrophic events we have been in, you will always see a fire truck or ambulance, I know this for a fact, I've been there & done it. Now retired.

Being a doc can be quite stressful, esp when you're on your own at night and being pulled in 5 directions and they're all sick

working in a pharmacy getting yelled at by people all day because 9 times out of 10 there is something wrong with their insurance or the doc wrote the prescription wrong and they cannot understand and assume we must be trying to get them for our own sick twisted pleasure

The one that requires you to have to balls to send 3 million men and women off to their deaths in war. The one that takes a person who used to be seen as a community man, a very nice, honest man, and makes him look like a tyrant, a liar, and war-monger. The one that requires you to listen to 300,000,000 people and figure out what's best for them, and implement it, despite the millions of loud-mouthed, pessimistic nay-sayers. The one that requires you to look the leader of a country directly in the eye and tell him that if he doesn't listen to the pressures of the world, he's going to be destroyed. The one that wakes you up at 2:30 in the morning to take a phone call from an ambassador who's daughter was just killed by the insurgents that are attacking his home out of rebellion and tell him that everything's going to be ok, and that you're taking care of it right now. The one that sits you in a classroom of 30 kindergardeners to read them a story as someone whispers in your ear that your responsibilities have shifted from diplomacy to telling the nation that 3000 friends and family members of that nation have just been murdered in a fiery slaughter, and that you're going to figure out who did it. The same job that sends you into the jungle of accusations that you were somehow responsible for that same vile, contentious crime, while they call you "idiot", "embecile", and "liar".
