I am buying a saxophone and need to know how long it will last my sax teacher has had hers for 16 but i hear somebody has had one for 50 please help

It all depends on how well you care for it. I've got a saxophone that was made in 1926. It's still in great condition and works well, and I've been playing it for 17 years. There are other saxophones that are even older than that.

I imagine they last forever as long as you have them cleaned and with time, you can refurbish them(plating and key pads). Someone pushed mine off the top of the stands at a football game in high school and I had it refurbished and still have it today. I will be forty on Friday, you do the math. HIghly Suggested!
