i want to buy an i-pod, but am not sure if the music i already have on my computer would work with it - it's mostly in mp3 format. Can it be changed to 'i-tunes' or do i have to buy i-tunes?

I-tunes is software that is needed to put your mp3s on your i-pod. It will "convert" the mp3s you already have. I'm pretty sure it's still a free download.

I tunes uses the MP4 format and is available for macs and PC's. You can put MP3's on an Ipod but it takes up more memory so better to get out all your cd's and re-save them into Itunes format. Itunes can be downloaded for free from the apple website. You have to pay for buying tracks from their store which is where they make their money because we've all been drunk at 3am and really needed to hear Sweet Child of Mine by Guns n' Roses and been no where near an open music shop.....,oh that's just me then..
