It has always been the fault of the radical Muslim extremist group who were behind 9/11.
Our government had no part in 911 save for showing that were ill prepared for such events, despite warnings that Osama Bin Laden was growing in power and already a suspect in several terroristic events in the 90's.
To believe other than this dreadful event being plotted by the men who carried it out, comitted a evil act of defiance and brutality against our coutnry and economy, shows that you are easily lead to believe anything that "is on the net".
We were not prepared and that is the extent of our guilt on 9/11 as a country and by our government.

I have heard the theorists who believe our government was behind the attacks. While I never dismiss any theory out of hand I have yet to see or hear any compelling evidence to convince me they are correct in this case.
There were fragments of the planes recovered from all three sites. Seperate governments have confirmed the identities of the terrorists and a terrosist organization was quick to take responsibility and to provide details.

TERRORISTS...but it could have been Bill Clinton, Al Gore, and the rest of the Democrats planned it to get back at Bush and the Republican Party for beating them (Remember it is the Electoral College not the popular vote...our fore fathers were smart)and to punish the military for not voting for the Democrats (Like Clinton did not do enough to the Military while he was President)...remember who was in office from 92-00...=) Why do we not ever hear any conspiracy theories like this...oh yea they are all from crazy Liberals...

how can anyone honestly post this question? if you believe that our government plotted 9/11/01 or had anything to do with 9/11/01, then you have serious mental issues that need to be looked at. MIDDLE-EASTERN ISLAMIC TERRORISTS planned and carried out this act of war on our country.

According to George Dubya himself a "terrorist is any person or organisation that commits a murder for a political reason." I do believe that makes the US government the largest terrorist organisation in the world. And there's no doubt they knew about 9/11 and conspired in it.

Anyone with half a brain knows that terrorists attacked us on 9/11. Osama Bin Laden admitted to it. That is why he is in hiding now.

Although the U.S. government may seem mean spirited at times, I can't bring myself to saying that the government planned it. It was, in my mind an act of terror - and the government took it hook, line, and sinker.
The government HAS been sloppy, has been foolish, has been overtly wrong in handling the situation SINCE 9/11, but I don't think they 'knew' it was going to happen beforehand.
