Did you install the DSL filters on all phone outlets being used?

I've had DSL in two different states, OK and TX. When I was in TX, when the phone rang, it would "pause" my internet connection for one minute. If I waited, it would be okay. Same happened when I hung up the phone. It would be stuck for about one minute. I learned not to click on anything within this one minute, so I didn't get an error page. I also had an icon in the bottom right of my screen telling me that the connection was disabled and I could watch for when it was okay again.

This doesn't happen to me since I moved, but I'm using the same company.

Make sure you have your phones and dsl modem plugged into the provided filters, or you will get kicked off. If everything is plugged in properly, try replacing the filters, and all phones need to be plugged into the filters, because if you happen to answer the one phone that isn't, you will get booted. If all else fails, call your dsl provider and explain your situation to them.

Qwest doesn't have that problem. Call you company and ask them how to stop it from happening.
