Yes it is. However it's highly recommended that people that still have a VCR should consider getting a DVD player. Very soon in a few years movie studios will stop making their movies in VHS format and switch to DVD. One of the reasons is because it's just more cost effective instead of producing than creating more than one media format just to please the masses as a whole.

My goodness, I advise you to buy a DVD player. I don't think they even sell VCRs anymore, and VHS is rapidly being phased out.
DVD players are extremely cheap these days. You can get one for 60$ at Wal-Mart.
