i had a cyst on both my ovaries that were drained and while the doctor was in there she saw that i only have one side of my tubes that is working. is there anything to do to help me get pregnant. my doctor said that when we decide that we want to try to have kids that she would do a x-ray to see if my tubes r working.

If you only have one functioning fallopian tube, yes, it will probably be more difficult to get pregnant. These tubes are where fertilization takes place.

It's by no means impossible, though. As long as you still have a uterus, an ovary, and one functioning tube, natural conception is possible. There are surgeries to treat blocked tubes (you will have to find out exactly why only one tube is functioning), and IVF has made it possible for some women who have no fallopian tubes at all!

They told me I would never have kids when I was 14 and if I did I wouldn't be able to have them will I have 2 girl who are 15going on 16 and 10 going 11 and now I can't have any for real becuase they had to take all my stuff out. They wanted to for awhile but I told them no. I had my first at 15 and my lst at 19 but I was pg 5 times and had to have one taken out of me. So don't think bad thing think good thing you can have a baby you have one that works men have on nut that work all the time and they make lot of baby so why can't you. If you think bad about it .It won't happin if you think good it more likly it will. So please never give up on your dream. All dream come true some how. we just don't know when or how

For many women when only one fallopian tube works it makes up for the other one and does double time. It may be a little harder but not necessarily. You can still chart your temp to find when you ovulate. Then you'll know when to try.

When the time comes when you want to get pregnant, I would seek the advice of a fertility specialist.
