Get a goat, it'll keep your grass down in your gardens.
Or you could go to your local soup kitchen and sponsor a tramp, they live outside.

How about a spouse. They make excellent pets to keep outside. You can let them in when they need feeding then chuck them back out into the cold and damp. Then bring them back in when you want to have your wicked way with them.
They can always swill themselves down under the stand pipe and run round the garden to get dry. No mess in the house that's for sure.

Bird feeders are cool. This way, if you forget to feed your pet, mother nature will not.
Worms are a cool pet. You can visit them at night outside in the fresh air. Just bring a flashlight and some food with you or you'll never find them.
Get a squirrel's nest and see what comes to visit.
Try a raccoon!

Get a Koi fish pond.
Any dog or cat will need to come in, at least in bad weather. It's cruel to see dogs chained to trees, forgotten about, and shivering in winter cold. What's the point of having a pet if he's left outdoors?
Horses can live outside, but you still need to provide them with proper shelter and/or a barn.

depending on where you live and any livestock restictions, alpacas are popular as are pygny goats, potbelly pigs, horses and duck/poultry. if you are within city limits there are several breeds of dogs, BUT besure to keep then in a secure kennel run and provide shelter from cold and other climates. also certain cities have a ordinance as to what breeds are dangerous,if you get these,be sure to check on insurance and make sure the kennel run has a secure top to it.

"Pets" are animals that are a part of the family and come indoors. Would you keep a kid outside? Probably not...
Try a goldfish.

A horse, cow, llama, pony, goat, pig, etc.
Dogs, cows, rabbits, ferrets, domestic birds, and other similar animals need to live inside. They can hang out outside occasionally, but no 'pet' animal should be bought just to be dumped in the yard.

big or small, you can get a rabbit, which are pretty easy to take care of, umm lets see, a horse is outside but much rather expensive, this is pretty hard to think of though, some cats are outdoors, but i dont think i would want to keep a sweet little cat outside lol.. but anyway, i would suggest a rabbit, they are inexpensive and easy to care for
