When Leeds won the title in 1992, remember when Man United lost to west ham on a tuesday night and Came second after Leeds beat Sheffield United and Man Utd lost to Liverpool on the Sunday, well there was apparently a big party held at David Batty's house and among the ones that attended were Lee Chapman and His Mrs, Leslie Ash. Rumour has it that Chappy caught Cantona and Leslie in an intimate situation and cracked Cantona./

The rumour is false.
Cantona led Leeds to the title in 1992. Man U initially wanted to buy another Leeds' player, but was rejected. Sir Alex then asked about Cantona, and the then-Leeds manager (Howard Wilkinson I think) agreed to sell him instead.
Cantona agreed to the transfer and the rest is history.

The joke at time was that Chapman was talking to Dorigo at training saying he thought Eric was having it off with wife, to which Tony replies, not yours too!!.
He just fell out with Wilkinson over style of football he was being asked to play. Still Leed's loss was united gain and King Eric was born

I love them both, they were both massively influential for Manchester United. Cantona revitalized the club in a way, his arrival sparked them and they won the league for the first time in 26 years. Keane on the other hand was a leader and no other captain in the history of the club has won more trophies than him. I guess Cantona for me.He's was more inspirational than Keane.Brought to the club what was missing at the time...magic.

A better question would be why didn't Fergie get rid of him (like any other manager would have done) when he did his Bruce Lee impression on that Crystal Palace fan.
