a) TRUE - The additive inverse means a + b = 0. So -1/3 and 1/3 are additive inverses:
b) FALSE - The reciprocal (multiplicative inverse) means a * b = 1. 3 and -3 are *additive* inverses. 3 and 1/3 would be the reciprocals.
c) TRUE - The multiplicative inverse of 3 (is 1/3).
d) TRUE - The reciprocal of 1 is 1 (1 * 1 = 1)

the reciprocal of any number, other than zero is written as
1/a where a cannot be zero.

if 3 is your number, its reciprocal is 1/3.. etc..
any number here refers only to integers, or whole numbers other than zero.
irrational numbers do not have reciprocals. because division by an irrational number is not defined.

in other words, you anwer is (b)..
