At the base of biology - how the cells work - is chemistry. At the base of chemistry - what the elements are made of - is physics. So really it all boils down to physics in the end.

Basically, in biology, when you get down to the molecular level, e.g. what is a cell membrane made of? What is DNA made of? Biology requires chemistry to answer to these questions, since biological matter is composed of "biochemicals". In understanding how chemicals work, biological or non-biological, you need to physics to understand the forces by which particles interact, and the energy relationships between different chemical reactions. Try googling "thermodynamics" and "biochemistry" for more info.

I once heard an eminent chemist say that he considered all science to be chemistry and that physicists and biologists had simply decided to study the most exciting bits of chemistry.

chemistry and biology are related as some fields overlap - biochemsitry
chemistry and physics overlap as some fields are related and use ideas from both departments - areas such as ideal gas equation
biology and physics are also overlapped i think as there are some fields that are very similar. - cant remmeber what areas thogh

physics, body in motion... chemistry is the foundation of all biological workings, so when you think of stomach acid... its acutally like you are working with Acids in a chem lab.... interesting..... biology is all about chemistry.
