Seriously even cereal is a bad plan. Formula is all he needs, let him eat as much as he wants when he wants. When he is about 4 months old he will probably slow down.

your baby is eating at a norml rate but does not yet understand the feeling of being full and so the baby will still need at times. Also 15 lbs is good for the baby, after birth they go through an increasing weight that may seem excessive but they are growing incredibly fast right after birth. You can compensate feeding more than that by giving water or deluted juice if you need to or they continue to be fussy, but if you give them a little time after they finish to let the bottle settle then sometimes that will solve it self. just like people when thet eat and keep eating and all of a sudden they are sick full they havent given there body enough time to relize it has been fed. Use your parental instinct on this and you can read your baby better than any one. Also contacting a physician or pediatrician will help tremendously in questions like these. also, a lactate nurse will have great info to help. CONGRATULATIONS on your blessing,

First, this should be discussed with your pediatrician as they should be able to answer this question for you. Of course, the answer you'll get will vary WIDELY depending when your pediatrician went to medical school, so I can only offer what my own pediatrician has told me and all the articles I've read recently published on this subject: breastmilk or formula is all a baby should be given for at least the first 4 mths, but for MOST babies it is better to wait until 6mths to offer other foods such as cereal and baby food. I know you think that giving cereal is a good idea (otherwise you wouldn't have done it) but it can lead to all sorts of health problems in the future for your little one as it was introduced too early - the most common health problem nowadays could be already appearing... obesity. That may be too harsh in your own baby's case. I dont know how big your baby was at birth, and perhaps your baby is growing just fine. But for most babies, 15 lbs at 3mths is considered to be too heavy.
I know a lot of parents who answer every cry their baby makes with a bottle. Babies cry for many reasons, hunger being a main reason of course, but there are other things you can offer your little one instead of a bottle that could calm them. A pacifier, a hug, a change of scenery, etc... If nothing else to spread out feedings a bit farther apart. And 8oz at 3mths sure seems like a lot for a feeding - if you offer less what is your baby like? You'll get a lot of people saying to go ahead with other food, but just because their child didnt develop allergies/diabites/other health issues as a result doesnt mean your baby wont.

My son is 4 months previous, under 15lbs and beverages 5-6 ouncesof formulation each and every 3 hours. this is approximately 30 ounceswithin a sixteen hour time-physique when you consider that he sleeps a minimum of 8 hours a night. A common rule of thumb is to multiply your infant's weight by way of 2.5 ouncesof formulation consistent with pound of bodyweight. So your infant’s intake interior a 24 hour era ought to be 37.5 oz. 2-3 ouncesappears particularly low; even nevertheless you should look for suggestion out of your healthcare expert exceptionally if the child starts off dropping any weight. additionally reference the article appropriate under. wish this facilitates…

Formula and Cereal is best. You may start with some baby foods, the intro baby foods first. Try one food at a time so that in case they are allergic you will know. Of course the doctors would say absolutely not. But every child/ culture is different.

I wouldn't even be giving him cereal yet. Just formula/breastmilk.
I agree with the first person who answered. Secondly, it seems as though your baby is doing just fine (more than fine) in the weight department. Why would you want to introduce MORE food to him? Bigger is not always better

No, you should wait till 6 months. I hope you are not putting cereal in baby's bottle, that's not a good thing.

No. You don't want to run the risk of food allergies. Giving foods under 5 or 6 months greatly increases the chances of food allergies.

first of REALITY CHECK!! 3 months and 15 lbs???? GIVE HIM A PACIFIER instead of food! some baby fat is good, healthy and needed. but not THAT MUCH!! poor thing will have childhood diabetes if you keep going like that!! and other problems. SECOND: at 3 months, its milk, formula and VERY LITTLE cereal or fruits like apples and pears, maybe carrots if she/he tolerates it already and like 2oz per day of fresh pressed orange juice, no added sugar, PERIOD!

you could try to introduce veggies, but it is a little early. His digestive system may not be able to handle the more complex food yet.
Go slow and watch for signs of allergy or indigestion. And expect to have to try things several times before he decides he likes them.
