The list is long. Until recently (past 20 years or so) having breast cancer was an almost certain death sentence for a woman. Now, through research, treatment, and early detection women are surviving breast cancer is record numbers.

You have some great examples already. Pat Nixon, former First Lady, is another. There are thousands. But for an example that will touch closer to home for you, check with your local Cancer center - they have the annual Race For The Cure and survivors from your local community will be there, and can tell you firsthand what it was like, and how they are doing now.

Some of them are Kylie Minogue & Sheryl Crow... Anastacia also, but not a breast cancer... but, she's surviving from cancer.
