First of all your parents might have a legitimate reason to say no. Find out exactly why, and then address that problem first. If they still say no, do some research and find all the positives of swimming. Give them the facts, and don't beg. Begging never works. Have the coach talk to them, whatever it takes to show them that the reason they said no is not that good of a reason. If it is some thing like rides to and from practice, talk to the girls on the team. They might be able to help there.

Are you talking about the swim team at your school?? If so try letting them know that it is important to belong to school, sports and that you would really like to be a part of the team. I can tell you it was alot of fun and I learned alot about sportsmanship when I swam. If they are worried about transportation, then try to work something out so they won't feel overwhelmed.

What is their reason for not wanting you to be on a school sponsored athletic team??? That doesnt make sense unless they have a really good reason.
