With my first, I got mine back within 4 months
with my second it was 6 months
and with my 3rd it was almost a year.

If you are worried, you can test, but then watch letting the swimmers in until you are ready for another!

Wow well there is no simple answer to this! I had my baby June 1st 2006 and I havent had a period either, however I only breastfeed which can sometimes delay the start up of your period! My last baby I breastfed aswell and I did not regain a period again for 14 months. I was just like you though....I always thought i was prego, for the sake of my sanity I would take a prego test every month....let me tell you thats a big waste of $.
You'll be fine, and I would think about birth control if you dont want to get pregnant again! Good luck

I had my son April 16, 2006 and it took 11 weeks for my period to show up. I too had unprotected sex at about 7 weeks after having my baby and was worried I could be pregnant, but thankfully not. Everyone told me to give it time, everyone is different. BTW, I did not breastfeed--tried for a week and gave up and had a C-section delivery. I've heard that it can take longer for a period to show up if you've had a c-section. Hang in there, it should be showing up SOON!

well, you could be pregnant, why did you have unprotected sex, huh? you had a baby, so you already know how the getting-pregnant thing works! when you get your period again all depends, i had mine after 2 months with my first baby and after 4 months with my second, both breastfeeding but never 100%. my sister in law is breastfeeding about 80% and her baby is 13 months... she has not had a period yet. it all depends on your own body. the best thing is that after a month or two after birth YOU ALWAYS PROTECT unless you are willing to do antoher pregnancy and have another baby. get a pregnancy test. go see your doctor and do the test and you will know!! every woman is different and for every women its different after each pregnancy! there is no guide book!!

It depends on your body and whether you are breastfeeding. If you are breastfeeding it will take longer for your period to come back, however you should not count on it as a form of birth control. Use a pregnancy test just in case. If you don't want to get pregnant again this soon, have your husband use condoms.

I thought when you give birth you bleed for like a month and a half so how did you find time to have sex again. In that period were you stopped bleeding you have a month to start your cycle again but some girls body takes a while for the cycle to start up again go to the doctor they should be able to tell you.

Not every one shows symptoms of being pregnant. I did not know till I was at least 3 months. But if you are really not sure do the smart thing and get the test. Oh and after I had my son I did not really get my period for at least a month but every one is different.

I too had a baby in August. August 2nd. I finally got a period September 16th. If you are breastfeeding though it does take loneger for you to start your cycle again. I am sorry to say that you are able to get pregnant right after giving birth to a baby, unless you are breastfeeding. If you are breastfeeding you are less likely to ovulate. Good luck and I am thinking of you!

If you are breastfeeding, chances are you are not pregnant.

I did not breastfeed, and I got my period three months after the baby was born.

But, it is still possible that you could already be pregnant again. Take a test. Even better, just give your doctor a ring with your concerns.
