Have you typed this correctly?

Eq 1: 2x² + 4xy - 3
Eq 2: x² - 2xy - 4

Subtraction:
2x² + 4xy - 3 - (x² - 2xy - 4)
= 2x² + 4xy - 3 - x² + 2xy + 4
= (2x² - x²) + (4xy + 2xy) + (-3 + 4)
= x² + 6xy + 1

I don't see that in your list.
If your first equation is 2x² + 4xy *plus* 3, then your answer is:
D) x² + 6xy + 7
