I 'm 36 weeks pregnant, i have been in horrible pain for the last 5 weeks, i cant even walk anymore, i have been with contractions that dont change or open my cervix, i went to emergency room last week and they tried to stop the contractions but they couldnt, so they send me home with this pain because is not changing my cervix. I got really mad because thye dont care if i 'm suffering.I had a c-section with my last baby, this time hey asked me if i want to have a vbac or another c-section,i said i want the c-section because my baby is just 16 months old, i m afraid my uterus will rupture. The doctor says they wont do a csection before 39 weeks, they dont care that i feel terrible. I was thinking if i tell them that i want to try a vaginal birth, would they induce me earlier??? at least 38 weeks, because i had an ultrasound that shows that my baby was almost 6 pounds at 32 weeks. Now i m 36 weeks and baby is probably 8 pounds. what do you think?

If you have been given the option of chosing what kind of birth you wish to have, then call your doctor up and tell him you would like to be induced. Some doctors refuse to do this unless your overdue, or if you or the baby are having serious health issues. The last few weeks of your pregnancy is going to be uncomfortable. Wish you the best of luck with your new baby. :-)

Unless there is serious risk to you or your baby's health, no doctor will want to induce before 38 weeks. This is to ensure the health of the baby.
Pregnancy can be painful at times. It is something we mothers have to deal with. Horrible as it may sound, but true.
The pain on the legs and pelvis is normal. When you are in alot of pain, try laying on your side supporting the weightof your belly with a pillow underneath and a pillow between your knees. This can help with the pain and pressure you are feeling.
If you are having more pain in the pelvic area, there is a position that will make the baby's weight move and relieve pressure also....but do not have a man around when you follow these instructions....it will only provoke stupid unwanted comments.
Get one your hands and knees.
Then lower your shoulders to the bed so that your butt is sticking up in the air.
I know this is an odd position, but it will move the baby off the pelvis for a while and give you much needed rest from the pressure and pain.
Best wishes!

My children are 13 months apart. The first a c-section the second a vbac. The only way that they will induce you is if your water breaks and you do not go into labor. Try sitting in a tub of warm water and relaxing, have the husband take the 16 month out to the park and give you some rest.
BTW, I am not suggesting that your husband is not helping out....It just sounds like you are really hyped up and need to relax a bit.
I was also given a choice on the second, vbac or c-section.... I had actually scheduled the c-section, but he came early. So I went ahead with the vbac.

Inductions increase the rate of uterine rupture. Ultrasound weight estimates are just that, estimates. They can be off by a full pound or more. Your body is just practicing for labor. I know it is painful, I had contractions regularly for the last 2 months of my last 3 pregnancies (of 4 total). A good doctor will not induce you for the problems you are having. Lung maturity is a concern still. MOST babies are fine at 36 weeks, but some are not even at 38. You should let your body decide when the baby is ready, not your personal comfort.

dr.s are so stubborn. ideally it should be the mothers final decision. I think in your situation they should give another weight estimate and if the weight is good than you should be able to deliver however and whenever you wish but for some dumb reason they just love to see us suffer. I am not a wuss or anything or selfish but at a certain point in pregnancy that baby is perfectly ready too come out and it shouldnt just be the dr.s opinion. I would tell your doctor how you feel . I know that i am due in three days and they told me a while ago that the baby was about seven pounds. I asked them how long before they would induce me and they said two weeks past due date. I said no way that would be thanksgiving and my kid would be huge. they just laughed and said I wouldnt make it that long anyway. but i will tell you that i have every other kind of pain other thatn contractions and i do not feel like this baby is coming out any time soon on our own. i dont know.

I am so sorry for what you are going through. I think the only way a responsible doctor will induce labor or move ahead with a C-sectionis if the baby is in danger, lower heart rate and activity.
Or if you are preeclamsic. that is high blood pressure.
I wish there was more I could do to help. I am sure you have tried all the remedies I know, warm soak in tub, mild actvity, plenty of fluids.
Good luck and God bless you.

My first son was once caused approximately 10 days early when you consider that of his measurement. The sonograms upped his due date. RIght now I'm 32 weeks pregnant and am getting a c-segment on 12/five (36 weeks) when you consider that of placental previa. Preeclamsia, damaged membranes, and diabetes also are motives for early induction. Basically each time this is a hazard for the child or mom to move the whole forty weeks the selection is made to provide early. Doctors will attempt to maintain the child in for so long as viable. 37 weeks is regarded complete time period and the nearer you're to this date the higher. I was once informed that everyday in takes to the air a million week within the NICU.

The size of your baby is probably why you are hurting. My first was 11 lbs 11 oz and I swear after the 35th week he was killing me!!!
It seems like your OB should be a little more understanding. 36 weeks IS a little early. Maybe you could convince him to do another u/s? Just to get a gauge on size again...BTW, a u/s could be wrong about size up to 2 lbs. Your baby could have been as small as 4 lbs or as big as 8 at the time of the last one.

They won't induce a mom with a c-section because pitocin and cytotec, the two drugs for induction, both make the uterus much more likely to rupture. In fact, the risk of rupture is miniscule unless they give you pitocin or cytotec. They might give you something to stop contractions if you want, though.

OMG, no, I can't believe they even gave you the option for a vbac!!! I don't know if anything has changed in the last few years, but last I knew you had to wait at least three years from after you had your last c section. I had a vbac with my second and my third child, a c section with my first and fourth. You know if you want to change doctors or hospitals you can, nothing says you have to stay with the same doctor. I did for my last baby, because he acted like he could care less. I think I was about six months along. But if you trust your doctor, then you have to go with what he or she says.
