In most states, if you or your baby tests positive at the baby's birth for an illegal substance, the baby will be placed in foster care and you can be charged with felony child abuse, neglect and endangerment.

Pregnant or not, using meth is not smart. It is a health risk to you, and a health risk to your unborn baby.

I did everything right with my first pregnancy - my child was still born with multiple congenital anomalies, or in plain english, handicapped. He is now 22. That's 22 years of surgeries (150+), doctor appointments, near death experiences, and dealing with a 22 year old who is mentally 2 years old, and stands 4 foot tall and weighs 42 pounds.

If you are using drugs, you are not mature enough to be a parent. Tell your obstetrician so that provisions can be made for your baby's well being. It may already be too late for you to have a healthy baby.

How selfish can you be? Check yourself into a center so you can not longer use.

For one what makes you so sure your going to make ti threw the pregnancy? Using meth the chances are you will miscarry and two if you use any type of drugs during pregnancy you have a really high risk of having a baby deformed or mentally retarded.
Can you really live with yourself if your child is born deformed or mentally retarded??

I can tell you right now what will happen if the baby is found with drugs in it's system, DCF will take the child away and you will never see it again. My aunt is a DCF member and she has removed so many babies from new moms before they even get a chance to see the baby or take it home from the hospital and it saddens her when she sees the babies born with down syndrome or deformed because their mothers were to selfish and stupid to get help. Along with losing your child you will be arrested, after a certain amount of time of being pregnant it turns into child endangerment but im not sure at exactly what week that starts to go in effect.

My aunt just took twin girls from a meth addict mom, the mom got to see them when they were born at just 27 weeks (they were born early because of the meth) it has been 4 weeks and those babies are still in the NICU and one is missing half of her arm and the one missing half her arm is hanging on by a thread, they have already had to revive her twice.

The mother is sitting in jail right now waiting to go to court and see what is going to happen to her, it has already been made clear to her that she is not getting the babies and my aunt has already got a married couple lined up wanting to adopt the twin girls, the couple are with both the babies everyday in the NICU and can not wait to take them home but the journey for both those babies is goign to be long, theyare going to be in the NICU for several more weeks and like I said the one missing half her arm is hanging on by a thread.

Do you really want to go threw this? Do you really want to lose your baby and go to jail and have to live with yourself knowing a baby is retdared or deformed because of you?? Trust me it is not a good feeling.

Why, are you thinking of taking meth until the baby is born? You shouldn't even be involved in that mess in the first place. Are you asking because you think you might get away with it?

If drugs are found in your baby's bloodstream, I believe they will take him/her away from you.

You need to quit that stuff. Your baby is going to be born addicted if you don't kill him/her or yourself first.

you seriously need to get help. Stop using drugs. You can have the baby taken away. Which by the way maybe you should consider adoption if your not ready for the responsibility of a baby, and using drugs and being pregnant doesnt sound like you are!

y'know, people like you really make me mad. i would give almost anything to have another child but i am unable to. here you are with THE most precious gift you could be given and you are destroying it. there is no maybe about it. you WILL lose custody of the baby, if he survives. that would be best for the baby because he will need a lot of very expensive medical care and a lot of love, patience and understanding. he will not be able to get that from a mom who is whacked out on meth. when you have the baby, do the world a favor and get your tubes tied. you are not fit to reproduce.

If they suspect drug use and your baby tests positive they will take it from you and put it in foster care until you are able to care for it.

That is definately child abuse. Go get help because if there is a problem when the child is born, you will pay dearly for the rest of your life.
