Is it normal to feel held back and want to get out?

I have an extreme commitment issue with pretty much everything, from friends to boyfreinds to school. After awhile of being in the saem place, even if i am doing very well there... I feel like it shouldnt last, and things need to be different, I feel like , happy or not, I am bing held back and there is so much i want to do in the world. I want to pick up everything right now and move to NYC and do some auditioning for shows and enroll in NYU I am a college student at a very well known univeristy pulling in about a 4.0 already.... why am i doing this?

Hmm..well there must be something you're escaping from. If this is something you've felt over and over, you should evaluate your present situation. Sounds like you're not happy, but restless. My advice, since you're still a college student, it'd be wise to get your degree before moving somewhere else. After that, you can go wherever you please. Think about it honestly though, would you be happier if you left. Leaving your 'problems' behind doesn't solve anything.

Well, it seems like you feel that you have a problem. If you think that way, then you probably do. If you think there's no problem, there's no problem. It's all in your head. The things that you find important are not so important after all. The most important thing is that you are happy and contented with yourself and what you are doing. If you switch and find none of that happiness anyway then the problem might really just lie in your head and you need to see a shrink.

because you haven't learned patience...that comes with time... make solid plans before you jump...keep the grades up and finish school...then you will be ready to move on...if you need to keep yourself occupied...do volunteer work at a library or hospital... good luck!
