Cheap gas will not "save" an economy in decline, especially with all major business decisions within corporate america dictating a massive shove towards 'TRICKLE-UP' economics, to a few major stockholders. Works for a few people who can't get that snout too deep into the trough...unlicked cubs of society? Like celebrities...

The wholesale sell-out of America is in full swing, courtesy of business majors who job is now to steal money instead of earning it.

...isn't that the route of a 3rd world country? Is this the "new america" Ronald Regan spoke of?

Cheap gas is just the tip of the ice burg when it comes to the elections. Do you remember when the gas was $1.50, or even less than that? Possibly BEFORE Bush got us involved in Iraq? It would still be that, or less, if we'd kept our noses where they belonged, but NOOO. We had to play Daddy and tell everyone else what to do with their nations. I know that I for sure won't be sending any Republicans back to congress tomorrow.

Cheap gas will last at least another week until the elections are over. You are correct that the US economy is in serious trouble. The underlying problem is that the US has enough domestic oil reserves to last 3 years (if it could be pumped that fast). With Iraq, the reserves are good for 15 more years, but the underlying problem remains. Imported oil is paid for by selling off America. How long will the rest of the world buy into America to satisfy America's thirst for oil? If America is to have any economic future, it MUST become energy self-sufficient.

This is the New America, the selling out of our country and people by big-business and our government, who will stop them? Cheap gas? Cheap gas is under $1.00/Gal. not $2.26/Gal. This president and his goons have accelerated this takeover as of late, are the dems going to change anything if they take control? What the hell do we do? What can we do to change the way our system works? Will it resort to a violent revalution? A class-war between the rich and middle-class/poor? Most Americans are weak-minded and don't care that this is going on, enough is enough. Even our voting system is now corrupt due to the new machines most will use that are hack-friendly with no paper trail for accurate count or recount. A happy day for me would be to turn on tv and see we have a new government created by the people for the people, and watch that f-ing white house burn to the ground.
