My husband wants full custody but then wants to hire an au pair.?

because he wants to "jog in the mornings." I am not supposed to object. Is he serious?

Sounds like you both have bigger issues than this. Stop, and think about the kids what is best for them. When there are kids involved there is no time to be selfish. If his house is a better place for them and he wants to pay an Au pair than let him. Otherwise make your house the best place for the kids so you don't have to deal with this situation again.

It all depends on what the court decides. You can speak through your attorney but if you had the kids you would still have to hire a caretaker if you went to work or whatever you do outside the house. It is the same if you are a man or a woman and the court has to decide who is the better parent in the interest of the children.

he can ask for full custody if he wants but he'll have to have some pretty strong evidence against you to convince a judge. My best friend's ex did the same thing but couldn't discredit her in court - instead she proved(she had evidence of his wrong doings) to be the more suitable parent and the judge awarded her full custody!

just because he wants full custody doesn't mean he will get it.

your duty is to prove to the court what is in the best interest of your children.

if you are available during the time that he wants to have a sitter come in, then you need to make it clear that it would not be in the best interest of the children for a sitter to be with them when their mother could be with them.
