G. M. recommends that you use their DEXCOOL coolant, and it isn't wise to mix it with anything else.
It is good for 5 years before service replacement is required. For topping off, mix with 50% water.

Good Luck

Listen to Ironhand.
We use Dexcool in our vehicles now. I personally don't like the coolantbut it si what comes in the vehicle and what you should use. I'm not sure about the "gold stuff" mentioned in one of your other answers but I wouldn't try it. That is one thing about the Dexcool. If you contaminate or even let it have too much exposure withthe atmosphere it will become almost clumpy and wil lead to clogging and flow issues. But other than the the stuff is great, you can go 5 years or 150,000 miles without service. So I think the answer that suits your purpose is that you would need to use a 50/50 mix of Dexcool and water. (unless you buy the pre-mixed gallon of coolant)

A step beyind this answer will give you my two cents on theDexcool though.

I personally like the old ethelyne glycol green stuff. You should service it more often but it just didn't have the potential for problems like the Dex does. And it's cheaper too. In your case though, you would have to completely drain and flush your entire system and then refill with the green. I would urge you to take this to a shop in order to have that done because you do not want to mix the two at all and you also don't want to have to deal with the recovery of the old coolant removed during the flush. Of course you were probably just asking what you should use to top off your resivior. Dex would be the answer.

What ever your auto manufacturer recommends. I would check with your deal though, I have heard bad reports about the pink stuff and what it can do to you vehicle. If you have pink, they may want you to drain it and change to green. If they tell you to do this then you are okay as to warranty.
