What make router is it?

I have a Belkin Router on NTL (Terayon Modem) and just plugged it in to the modem and away we went.

Didn't have to install anything?

You dont know enough to ask this question.
static/dyna/ppoe/pptp/ all have notihng to do with trouble connecting to your router.

read the manual.
