Two U.S. senators are elected from each state. All states have equal representation in the U.S. Senate, unlike the House of Representatives which is based proportionally on population.

One Senator and one House Representative. One for serving the Senate and the other the House of Representative the bicameral wing of the American Parliament. They are all of domiciles of different states not the home state from where they are elected. This is a checks and balance for one not to favor once own home state in the Congress.
