I do a shut-down every night when I'm done using my computer, and someone recently told me I shouldn't do that, but rather let the screen saver come on automatically. Is this true, or does it not matter how often you shut down your computer?

I think you're supposed to shut off your PC before you go to sleep. For one thing, it saves electricity.

i dont' htink it will be too good for you if you didn't sleep.
a computer is just like a human in some cases

you should shut it down at night it saves wear and tear in your fans and reduces the ammount of dust that accumulates you should also get canned air and once a month unplug it take off the side cover and blow the dust out

Dont shut it down.
The hard drive has very smal lfast moving parts. Constantly reheating and cooling them is very bad for it.
