If it causes such a reaction in some people and alot of places are proud not to use it and even advertise no MSG then it must not be very good to begin with. If the food is good then nobody should need to enhance the flavor artificially. Natural is best.

MSG is used as a flavor enhance. MSG effects the nervous system. MSG enhances flavor via the nervous system repeated exposure can cause severe headaches. MSG is found in other foods not only Chinese food. here is a link to FDA info on MSG:

MSG is a flavor enhancer high in sodium. To me, the food tastes better without it, and my body appreciates less sodium too!

MSG is kind of like salt. They sell it in stores and it's called Accent. But it is like salt.

mono sodium glutamate is a flavor enhancer. Some people are allergic to it but if you are not allergic to it, it won't hurt you.
