Between soccer and football, which one has more foot to ball contact during play?

So which one deserves the name more?

It doesn't matter, both can be called football.

Australia has their own version of football. So does Ireland.

America adopted the word "soccer" from the South Africans and Australians.

There is only one football and that is what you Americans call Soccer. This is because it is a nickname for 'Association Football'. Any other game such as rugby Football or American Football is not really worthy of the name since kicking is a relatively or non-existent part of the game.
