I am 18 years old and have been getting my period for 4 years. I get them about every 35-40 days with some variations. They are not very predictable but they are also not WAY off the scale. I have no other known health problems and my periods are otherwise pretty normal. They last about 4-6 days. Is there something wrong?

Very likely, it is perfectly normal. There is a lot of variation in how often women have their periods, the average, however, is about 28 days.
But you should still visit a gynecologist as he may order some simple blood tests (hormone levels) and an ultrasound (totally painless 5 min test) just to make very sure.

It doesnt sound like there is anything wrong- different people have different menstural cycles- however, if you are 18, you should definately be going to the Gyno at least once a year and should discuss this with them. The Pill can also help regulate it more for you to know when you will get it and they usually last shorter time frames when on the pill.

They say that the normal cycle is anything from 23 - 35 days, however, there are exceptions to this and it depends on how often your body is ovulating. If you don't have any other health problems or symptoms, then you have nothing to worry about .. you just have a longer cycle than the norm.

Yes, if perfectly normal. Your period is suppose to irregular believe it or not!! Try and keep track of it as best you can for minimal "surprises". If your problems continue and start to interfere with your daily life routines try talking with your doctor there are a few medical ways that can help regulate your period.

You are normal for you. My sister and I were very different in our patters. Not everyone has the same 'calendar' clock for their cycles. At 18 you should start seeing an OB/GYN for your female exams. Talk to a doctor about any concerns you may have concerning this issue.

That is perfectly normal. Every one gets their periods at different times. My period is just about the same way.

Since you got it at 14 your body is still balancing. It's normal for girls in their late teens early 20s to get irregular periods.

There's nothing wrong, you just have a longer than average cycle. You can go to a gynecologist who can prescribe drugs that will make your period more regular.
