Luton, City, Stansted, Gatwick, Heathrow

Heathrow and Gatwick handle the bulk of international flights. Easyjet's base is Luton; Ryanair's is Stansted. City Airport has only smaller jet services due to noise restrictions.

the only one actually in London is london City Airport which is just 6km to the east of the city. Other airports are heathrow about 25miles away in Surrey, Gatwick in Sussex, Stansted in Essex and Luton which is also well outside of London.

I am not sure what you are asking but BAA London City,BAA London heathrow, BAA London Gatwick and BAA London Stanstead and London Luton Airport are in the London and greater London district. But have you noticed there is no BAA in front of Luton this is because BAA do not own it is owned by Luton Borough Council.

Welll said Alberto has the best answer. But you can also visit London's first airport, which closed in 1959, in Croydon the first Sunday if each month. It has an exhibition about the early years of civil aviation in London.
