Well, when I hug my sweetie, I like every inch of my body as close to his as I can. But with a friend, a nice bear hug is perfect!

Due to a proliferation of dirty old men in church, I tend to go for the sideways, 1-armed 'not quite into it' kind of hug, unless it's a real friend or love; then it's full frontal both arms around, and squeeze (gently!)
