HS student with no money has taken and got a really poor score which does not seem to be consistant with his AP class score. Is there a better method to taking the test?

Try to get as many practice tests as you can with their answer sheets. Become familiar with each section, the types of questions, answers and practice your timing.

If you're from US and really have no money, you should consider asking your school counselor for a fee waiver. Then you'll be able to take the test again for free.

There's no way to improve your SATs other than to do a lot of practices. I recommend buying the official collegeboard book. If you can't afford that, go to a library and study there or something. The tests in the official book are very similar to the actual one.

Good luck.

Buy a book with software. Then, practice, practice, practice. If you're struggling with math, learn the SAT math strategies. Same with vocab, etc.

Come prepared with writing ideas because most people run out of time think of things that can relate to anything
