Iraq has been turned in to the biggest center for (a) recruitment, and (b) training, for terrorists that American lives and money can buy. Every day we stay in Iraq, the more the islamic militants can show pictures of our occupation to the rest of the middle east. Every time a soldier gets killed and we retaliate taking out a few civilians, a few more brothers, husbands, fathers, mothers, sisters show up at the training camps.
Not to mention, we have freed up Iraq from its secular dictator so that an Islamic dictator can replace him (as happened in Iran).
The threat of terrorism is FAR FAR worse today, and for the forseeable future, than it ever was 6 years ago.
This one was *botched*.

The only groups on your list that may qualify as terrorists are the KKK & some of the militias. There are terrorists in this country who you didn't mention, mostly affiliated with foreign terrorist organizations.
It is not either/or, but rather both/and.

I don't really agree with your list but we are fighting terrorists here. But that fight takes place in the world of investigations, intelligence and the like. That's the main way the war on terror will be won.
