Find the area of the triangular end using A = 1/2 x base x perpendicular height

It has two triangular ends so work out 2A

The prism has 3 rectangular sides and Area of these is length of the prism x the width. If the triangle is equilateral the total area of the 3 sides is 3 x length x length of one side of the triangle.

If the triangle has 3 unequal sides then you will have to work out the length of each of the rectangular side.

So, total surface area = area of two triangular ends (2A) + area of the 3 rectangular sides.

all prisms (triangular prisms, cubes, cuboids, cylinders) have a unform cross section. This basically means u take the cross section and give it another dimension or a length. There fore the area of any prism is the area of the cross section multiplied by its length. so a triangular prism is 1/2 base x height (the area of a triangle) x its length. a cyli9nder would be pi x r^2 x its length. hope this is useful

If the shape your talking about is a "wedge", you will have 3 rectangles and 2 triangles. The rectanglar areas are just length times width. The trianglar areas can be computed by multiplying the base by the height and dividing by 2.

I think, and I am not the best at math but, I think that you find the area of one surface and multiply by the total number of suraces in the prism.

find the area of each prism of the triangular. S1 = b*h/2, S2 = B*H/2, BOTTOM = L*W, FRONT = L*W, BACK = L*W. After that add them all up and that is your surface area (ft^2) (yd^2) etc.
