Character - 10, Issues - 10. Here's the thing for me. If I don't trust the candidate's character then I'm not going to trust him/her when they start telling me about the issues and what action is best to take. This is exactly where Bush lost me about 4 years ago.

I'm 20, I believe I should vote to be an american. I voted early because I had to get a absentee ballot in my town, I am at college pretty far away.
We have 5 governor candidates here in Maine, and I decided to vote for the least known of them because I like what he stands for. Baldacci is a crook who raised minimum wage and increased taxes, Woodcock wants to ban abortion (which I think is wrong), Merrill is basically a republican, LaMarche is a convict.
The guy I voted for NaPier (The People's Hero) is running as an independent. He is also a convict, but he believes that people running the government are privilaged citizens and normal citizens should be running the government. He wants to lower taxes, and make jails self-suported.

My experience over many years of voting is that good character pretty much goes along with support of the right issues.
Hopefully, the voters of New Jersey will consider that as they cast their votes for U.S. Senator, and elect Tom Kean, Jr. His opponent, Robert Menendez, is under federal investigation on complaints of conflict of interest. He allegedly made $300,000 by renting property to a federally funded non-profit organization for the poor.

THE way i vote is i listen to what they have to say and if i like what they say and i agree with them. Then i will vote for them. John kerry lost my vote the first time he ran bc he contraticted his self tooo many times and of the plenty of things he said so far i do not agree with so if he ever runs again i will not be voting for him. IT is ther character and what they say. that is how i vote i am independent but bc i like what the replican said i voted that way the last presidential election.
