Pets come from their mommys belly.Or a egg.Sometimes you can get them from a pet store or someone sellin them or giving them for nothing.I got all 4 of my cats as strays off of the streets.Are you really serious with your question?

You can get pets almost anywhere
the mall pet store
a person who rasies pets, dogs, cats , and birds
Or you could go to the resuce shelter and save a pet
people put signs on yards giving cats away.

humans have always domesticated creatures for companionship and often for utility like hunting or guarding. I'd say probably that as soon as we were smart enough to figure out how observe an animal's behavior and manipulate that behavior for our own use.
Later on, as we grew rich and idle, we started having pets strictly for amusement.

if people are smart, from a shelter. but many aren't that smart, so i don't know where the other pets come from. needless breeding mostly.
