You really can't. Sometimes they will fade with time, but they never really go away.

Best way is to use Palmers, Coco Butter...they make a lotion specifically for stretch marks, although their regular formula in the bigger bottle has worked for me. Red color will fade in about 2-3 weeks. You'll still have slight white marks, but they won't be noticeable unless you really look. The coco butter helps with that too, (toning skin).

I am thin but still have a few stretch marks - I guess I grew fast when I went thru puberty, ugh. Anyway, my dermatologist gave me Retin-A, you put it on the area every night. It did help fade them, but they're definitely NOT completely gone. Cocoa butter can prevent them, but I'm not sure how effective it is in treating existing marks.

I've heard that the cocoa butter formula that pregnant women use on their stomach stretch marks also works for your thighs and hips. Also rubbing baby oil on them 3 times a day. But I haven't tried the latter.

Cocoa butter is a big help but a stretch mark will not go away completely.
You can also try bleaching it out or (its a little expensive) have a Doctor laser them out.

They are difficult if not impossible but the skin can feel and look better if you rub in with a good rich cream that contains cocoa butter and vitamin E.
