what i am asking here is how emotion may help us survive as a species, and how emotion may be hindering us.

well if your are emotionless...you can't get hurt..
but you can't get close to anyone either...
it's a double edged sword..

Being emotionless may protect you but so much so it pushes people who are close to you away. The lack of emotion makes them think you don't care when you do care. You can't live in a shell or behind a wall your whole life. Emotions help us as a species understand each other. If we all walked around stone faced, we won't know when people are happy, sad, angry or all of the between! Being too emotional can do the same thing.

Some take wolves, in a very cruel way, by freezing a razor blade in blood. Not having the feel (emotion) to detect the danger, the animal dies.

emotions is how our species came to be what we are, you have to have emotions to communicate....emotions you can communitcate with out language.......so i cant see out species going on with out it.......hey if you dont have emotion you need to start playing poker this you would be good at, since your social life will not be that good....lol....we have to have emotions
