If Rutgers defeats Louisville, is it enough to play for the title?

Which one loss team deserves to play?

Rutgers will never be ranked high enough or have the strength of schedule to make it to THE game, but if they win out (doubtful), they will likely play SOME BCS game. How could they not?

Whoever wins the SEC will only have one loss, and will have survived a RIDICULOUS schedule. I think they would deserve a shot at the title. IMO

Rutgers started the season as an unranked team and therefore were already behind the 8-ball and no matter what happens will not make the Championship game...even if every team loses a game.

We stand a better chance, if Louisville loses to Rutgers, of seeing the Buckeyes and Wolverines "rematch" for in the national champ. game.

Personally I feel the entire BCS system is flawed and that it needs to be retooled. No standings should come out till at least the 6th or 7th week so that teams like Rutgers and Boise State are not eliminated before the season starts. They seriously need to look into the 4 + 1 model...meaning the four majof BCS games plus one "Championship Game" which is the closest thing to a true playoff we would see....

But to actually answer your question now...Loiusville loses and you will see a onel loss team playing for the championship, not Rutgers.

I kind of doubt that Rutgers will make it to the play-off game. I think you'll probably see a 1 loss team before Rutgers goes to the championship game. Louisville could possibly go to the championship game. Normally you have to have at least a pretty good season the year before to get considered. Louisville was pretty descent last year, but Rutgers has kind of came out of the blue.

If it turns out to be a one loss team, which would make more sense than sending Rutgers to get their heads stomped in, then America would much rather see a re-match of Ohio State vs. Michigan, unless that game ends up being a blow-out. Then, I have no idea. Maybe Rutgers does get sent on a suicide mission, who knows? But if OSU/Mich. is close, expect a re-match - but again, that's only if Rutgers beats Louisville.

If Rutgers defeats Louisville and West Virginia I still don't believe they will rise to number 2 in the BCS rankings. Their non-conference schedule was atrocious with UNC, ILL, OHIO and Howard. They'll most likely end up in the Fiesta Bowl playing another undefeated team in the Boise St Broncos.
As far as the one loss teams go, it will come down to Michigan (who I expect to lose to OSU), Fla if it beats Ark in the SEC championship (I don't think ARK can climb the rungs that high even by running the table) and Cal should they beat USC. Don't be surprised if it's still Michigan if the loss to OSU is close.

Moot question, since Rutgers will beat Louisville on Thursday but lose to West Virginia in December.

Louisville/Rutgers no doubt. If Rutgers can beat Louisville then I would like to see them in the championship and I think it would be right. You just can't afford a loss. I don't care if you are in the SEC and anybody can beat anybody. You loose, you out. Best 1 loss team in my opinion would be Arkansas.

If Louisville runs the table, they probably get in. Deserved or not. Thank you BCS.
If Rutgers runs the table they play in a BCS Bowl but not the Championship. They don't get past most of the 1 loss teams.
If it comes down to a bunch of 1 loss teams there are only two 1 loss teams who logically deserve it. Michigan has an argument but their loss comes to late in the year. The human polls will drop them to far because they don't want to see that rematch so soon. The only other logical one loss team would set up:

The rematch in the desert for all the marbles.

Hook'em!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Colt's not a freshman anymore.

Edit
I think warren needs to get back to the soccer site. "What title"????????

How I see it bottom line any undefeated team deserves to play in the Championship I think it is completely unfair to the players
if your players do everything that is asked of them (which is to win)
how can you not give them a chance at the title
The players play the game they cannot control who they play
so strength of schedule should not be an issue when talking about undeafeated teams

The National championship should be undefeated vs. undefeated bottomline
let the other schools complain they lost its there fault

if there are no undefeated teams or only one then thats another story

P.S. Exactly anything can happen if the BCS keeps up this stuff a small school will never even have a chance to win a NC

If Louisville wins out how can you not put them there? If they do win out they will have 3 wins over teams in the top 25 when they played them two of them in the top 15. Which is exactly the same number of top 25 wins any of the one loss schools if those teams win out. They will also have a win over the highest ranked team of any of those schools with their win over West Virgina at #3. So if Louisville wins out they have the credentials to play in the big game.

Brohm is the real deal and Mich or OSU is going to have their hands full if it comes down to that. Could be a high scoring shootout of a championship.
